Hats off: the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and
Princess Catherine's easygoing manner has made them a big hit in Canada. “We haven’t seen a love-in like that since the first visit of
the Beatles!” said Canada’s Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, as he
bid farewell to the couple in Calgary on Thursday before Prince William
and Princess Catherine flew to California.
It is the rapport the Duke and Duchess Prince William and Princess Catherine have with each other, sometimes signalled only by a fleeting glance, that has got them through the daunting task of working the crowds, day after day, in the white hot glare of the world’s media. As the Duke Prince William moves along one sea of hands and faces, the Duchess, Princess Catherine usually with her back to Prince William, takes the other side of the walkway, always checking over her shoulder to make sure she is not too far behind her husband.
