Kate Middleton has been confirmed in the Church of England during a secret service prior to her wedding to Prince William.
The ceremony was carried out by the Bishop of London, the
Rt Rev Richard Chartres, who will give the address at the marriage
ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29. St James's Palace
spokesman said: "Catherine Middleton was confirmed by the
Bishop of London at a private service at St James's Palace attended
by her family and Prince William.
The Bishop of London, who is regarded as one of the Prince of Wales’s
favourite clerics, has played a key role in several royal religious ceremonies
in recent years. He confirmed Prince William during a ceremony held at
St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle in March 1997 when Prince William was 14.
