This Prince William and Kate's Wedding cake took two months of painstaking work to complete - and it is not even edible. Royal fan Sheila Carter spent hours every day knitting the three-tiered creation in homage to Prince William and
Kate Middleton's nuptials on April 29.

The Prince William and Kate's Wedding 'cake' has taken more than 100,000 stitches and has around 300 hand sewn flowers adorning white woolly 'icing'.  Its three tiers are topped by the fabric version of Prince William and his fiance Kate.

The royal wedding cake is set to have a Gujarati connection. It has emerged that Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen a cake company run by a Gujarati in Leicestershire. Baker Fiona Cairns, who is married to Kishore Patel, will make the wedding cake for Prince William and Kate's wedding.

Cairns has been commissioned to create a traditional multi-layered fruit cake with a floral design for the Prince William and Kate's royal wedding next month, along with a second one made from rich tea biscuits.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are to have two cakes at their wedding.For their wedding next month Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton announced Sunday that they aren't just having their cake and eating it -- they're having two.

Prince William and Kate Middleton said they had decided on a "multi-tiered traditional fruit cake" with a floral design, followed by a chocolate biscuit cake that was one of Prince William's childhood favourites. The main cake, which will take centre stage at the Buckingham Palace reception on April 29, will be made by celebrity cakemaker Fiona Cairns who counts former Beatle Paul McCartney and rockers Pink Floyd among her clients.Cairns said Prince William's fiancee

Last week, Britain’s Eat Out magazine reported that chefs from the Welsh National Culinary Team have been selected to bake the royal wedding cake – an apt choice given that the newlyweds will be living in North Wales, where Prince William will be stationed with the Royal Air Force.
