Prince William Reaches Out to
Ex-offenders with Charity Patronage
The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William became the patron of a charity that helps people to break free from a life of crime. The 29-year-old Prince William will be the figurehead of St. Giles Trust, which provides training and support for offenders after they leave prison, St. James's Palace announced Tuesday.
Prince William's patronage will run throughout 2012, the charity's 50th anniversary year.St. Giles Trust chief executive Rob Owen said the charity was "honored and delighted" by Prince William's support.
