tickets left for the palace's summer opening - which features items from
Prince William and Princess Catherine's wedding among the displays -
before it ends on Monday (03.10.11), but they have now sold out, with long
queues forming for those wishing to get into the exhibition.

Prince William and Princess Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are set to open a cancer center for children at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London later this month. The news, announced Monday by the royal office, also revealed that Prince William and Princess Catherine would visit the center on September 29 where they will meet the staff and patients and also receive a tour of the unit.

Prince William has followed his mother, Princess Diana's lead, taking up her position as president of the British hospital. The 29-year-old Prince William will unveil a plaque at the official center opening, according to People magazine.

The interest spanned from print, television and radio to the Internet, with more than six times the regular nline traffic to NWT Tourism's online explorers' guide, and an increase of 13,000 visits to the NWT Tourism website this July over last.

Mike Freeland, owner of Blachford Lake Lodge, said Prince William and
Princess Catherine's visit to his lodge for an afternoon on July 5 has spurred a number of new bookings from around the world including the U.K., U.S.A, southern Canada, Hong Kong and Australia. Freeland said the lodge is offering a new package titled Follow in the Footsteps of Royalty, with a price tag of an additional $225 per person to take part in interpretive walking tours, hear stories from staff about the royal visit and canoe to the Royal Honeymoon Island for the same six-course meal served to Prince William and Princess Catherine.

Businesses downtown also saw an influx of customers during the three days the royal couple, Prince William and Princess Catherine were in town.
